Get the right make-up

When getting ready for a social get together or an intimate dinner with someone special, make-up becomes an essential. And unless one is professionally trained in the art of make-up, one needs a bit of help and guidance, so here we have some help for you.

First of all, your make-up kit needs attention, check whether all your cosmetics are in good shape. Most of the cosmetics today come with an expiry date and using them beyond this date can harm your skin. Now with that little precaution let’s get on with the make-up process.

Let us first begin with the eye region, since your eyes express more than your tongue does. Mascara should be applied as a thin coat on the top lashes only, followed by running the eyelash brush through the eye lashes. This will prevent the mascara from smudging and flaking off. If you are blessed with deep-set eyes, then use the regular pencil eyeliner instead of the liquid, to prevent smudging of the eye lid. An easier way to use your eyelash curler is to heat it using a hair dryer, which will help the eye lash curls to stay curled for longer. The current fashion for eye brows is to keep them natural looking and not make them too thin or too sparse.

Now let’s get down to your cheeks and give them a radiant and healthy glow. The foundation must be applied to the face only after you are completely through with the eye make-up, as this will allow you to fix up any smudging from the eyeliner. To make your foundation to stay on for a longer time and to give your skin a slight glowing effect, mixing in a drop of moisturizer will do the needful. Never buy a concealer or foundation without testing the color on your skin. The ideal place to do a skin color match is to test it on the inside of your wrist. If you want to apply blush to your cheeks make use of the latest gel based blushes as they blend in better because of being transparent. Start with the blush by applying it on your cheeks and then slowly blending it up towards the eyes.

And finally, it’s time to dress up your lips with your favorite lip color, and you can even make them shine with a coat of lip gloss, but don’t forget to use the lip liner to mark the outlines, and you’re ready for the party.

Sex Up Your Looks

Slipping into those fetid micro-minis may well not be the right choice when you wish to look sensual. There is a fine line that separates sensuality from sleaziness, so you have to go extra cautious to avoid any fashion blunders.

Sensuality is certainly not about exposing more of your skin; instead it is all about adding a few startling and glamorous touches. What’s even more wonderful is that getting that sizzling sexy look doesn’t call for a big budget.

Try wearing your outfit in a slightly different manner, like stretch that wide necked top to hang off the shoulder. However don’t go overboard and try something as weird as wearing your jeans with the zipper at the back. The idea is to make slight subtle yet noticeable changes to the way you wear your regular dresses in order to look different, particularly those changes which enhance the beautiful parts of your body.

Nude or pale lips are the latest fashion fad, but when it comes to a “sexy do” nothing can beat the luscious red lips. And don’t forget to use the lip liner to get the perfect outlines. Restrict the use of blush on your face to a minimum, and let your lips occupy the center stage. Your eyes are the other object on your face which expresses sensuality, so put on some eyeliner and eye shadow to highlight your eyes. And please leave those colored contact lenses for the witches and the vamps.

Adding a fashionable hat and shoulder-duster earrings are two easy tricks to add that sexy élan to your overall look. Wearing too much of jewelry can distract the looker so stick around to wearing just one or two good pieces.

As for your dress, apart from black, you can try some radiant hues of copper, maroon and pewter. Look for a fabric and color which complements your skin tone while sticking to the more simple shapes that highlight your contours. And finally complete your sexy look with a nice pair of sunglasses, if it is daytime, and a small clutch bag.

Easy steps to a better body image

Here is some help for those women who are not comfortable with how they look, or those who lack confidence simply because of their appearance or the ones looking for help on improving self body image.

It is quite a woman’s psychology to always feel that they are lacking somewhere in their looks, which puts them on a constant hunt to make changes to their wardrobe and lifestyle.

Self body image implies our imagination or perception about how our bodies look, and it is something that keeps changing ever so often with changes in our disposition, surroundings and physical experiences. More than anything it is our self-esteem that plays a vital part in forming our body image.

The first and the very basic step towards better body image of oneself, is by being aware of ones body proportions and still not trying to compare it with the body framework of other people. You can enhance the more lovable parts of your body, by wearing clothes that not just fit you but rather flatter your body, and that is possible only when you are well aware of what your body shape and type is.

Don’t ever be disheartened if the manufactured garments don’t fit you perfectly, because every single human being has a different body structure, and it is quite bizarre to think that all human beings can be fitted into those selected hundred odd sizes which are manufactured by the big brands.

Instead there things that can help you in accepting your body as it is and feel confident about your body image. The first step towards a better self body image is to be realistic and understand the fact that your body shape depends on your genes and your age, which makes it difficult to alter the shape of your body. It always goes a long way, to know which body parts of yours seem more beautiful to you, as you can always enhance the beauty of these parts with the use of clothing, make-up, jewelry or fashion accessories.

You don’t need to go on to crash diet, instead stick around to eating healthy and giving your body some regular exercise so that your body remains fit and you can carry yourself in a more elegant posture. And above all the key mantra to a better body image is to begin accepting your body the way it is and stop making comparisons with others especially with your role models and celebrities.

Go classy with Pearls.

Pearl jewelry is something which is unique, elegant, classic and stylish. For ages, pearls have been profoundly associated with Femininity; which can be traced in the folklores and fables. You too can effectively make use of pearl jewelry to create your unique personal style statement, provided you know how exquisite pearls are and how to wear them right.

There are two types of pearls, natural pearls and cultured pearls. Natural pearls are difficult to find and definitely more expensive because they are naturally produced by oysters and mussels. On the other hand the cultured pearls are produced in controlled environment by infusing some foreign material into the oysters. When you can’t decide whether it is a natural or a cultured pearl, look at the size of the pearl since naturally occurring pearls are usually smaller than 10mm in size, while the cultured ones are usually larger.

There are different varieties of pearls such as Akoya – which are salt water pearls, Conch – produced by large sea snails, Blister – dome-shaped natural pearls and Oriental – natural salt water Pearls which come from specific areas like Persian Gulf and Red Sea.

When accessing the quality of a Pearl take into account things like brightness, color, shape and the smoothness of the surface. Often Pearls are treated to make them more white and lustrous, and these treatments can be anything from heated bleach baths to artificial dyes. When you buy your pearls from a jeweler, he will normally provide you with a certificate in which will be mentioned whether the pearls have been treated or not.

Pearls are somewhat delicate by nature, so store them in soft cloth bags and try to prevent them from coming in contact with harsh chemicals. Even the chemicals found in your cosmetics and perfumes can dull the color and shine of your pearls.

And lastly, pearls come in so many varied colors that you should not have a problem in finding pearl jewelry to match with a specific dress. However, do remember the rarer the color, the more expensive it is bound to be. Look for pearl jewelry studded in gold as it makes for a perfectly glamorous and refined style statement.

What is CELLULITE?

What are those nasty lumps on your thighs and hips? Well don’t be alarmed because it is just cellulite which is traceable in almost 90 percent of the women. And when I say women, I mean women only because men are lucky that way and you will hardly ever find a man who has got cellulite. Cellulite is the fat stored around the buttocks and thighs giving them a dimpled or lumpy look. So now you know why your thighs and hips feel so cushiony.

Inspired by those sexy models in advertisements, some of you would have tried almost anything from using creams to using electronic gadgets to exercising to get rid of those unsightly fat lumps. There are lots of causes such as hereditary factors, low physical activity, binging on sweets and fried foods, and going scarce on water which lead to cellulite formation.

But if you’re serious about getting rid of cellulite, leave the causes and all other things aside and get on to a healthy diet and regular exercise program. Crash diets are no good, because they make you splurge too often and specially on weekends and holidays, so just drop the idea. You don’t necessarily need to be fat to have cellulite, even thin women have it. And believe me when I say cellulite is more like your faithful companion (or call it your enemy) who sticks around you through your “thick and thin”.

So by now that you’re convinced that crash dieting isn’t the way to go, how about taking the initiative to plan a healthy and well balanced low fat diet to combat cellulite. Leave all the fried foods and sweet desserts out of your diet plan, and replace them with lots and lots of water and green veggies. And as we said losing weight isn’t enough, how about getting onto an aerobics program to tone up your muscles. For exercises, cardio and weights training also have a wonderful effect on shrinking cellulite. Do ensure a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise thrice a week, and remember exercise means exercise and it cannot be replaced with your everyday household activities.

The Little Things That Matter

Dressing up well has nothing to do with how exotic and how expensive a collection you have in your wardrobe, rather it is something as simple as making some wise choices when you go shopping for your clothes. In the simplest of words it’s all about not going wrong with your outfit.

You may just have an average face and an average physique and all that is required is some interest and some time and you too can look ravishingly gorgeous. Leave that excuse of not being financially loaded to have a nicely stacked wardrobe aside, since there is no dearth of fashions stores offering a stunning range of clothing with a reasonable price tag. The little secret to making a classy fashion statement is to mix the one or two expensive items with the economical dresses. Step into one of these economy clothing stores, and you’ll find a lovely array of the trendiest clothing.

Whether you’re buying expensive clothes or some budget clothing, the basic rule remains the same that the loud colors are best kept outside your wardrobe. Although there is no harm in picking up one or two pieces of clothing in loud colors, but don’t get a complete head to toe dress of the same color. If your top is of a loud color, settle for a trouser or skirt of a neutral shade. And please remember that you must wear the right kind of outfit for every occasion. You cannot wear a revealing sexy dress to your office, so let it be only for the nightclub.

To complete your style statement, accessorizing is very important, be it with fashion accessories or jewelry. But please remember you cannot have the same accessories going with all your dresses, you must coordinate your accessories with your respective dress.

Most people tend to ignore their feet, and go on wearing the very same black footwear with every dress. Surely you can’t go collecting shoes in all different colors, but you must have three or four different shoes and sandals which can be coordinated well with most of the outfits in your wardrobe.

All these are little things, but somehow most of us overlook these issues and ruin our outward appearance and personality.

Sensational Spectacles

Gone are the days when people made fun of you for wearing spectacles and called you by all those funny names. Wearing spectacles has come out to be the latest fashion trends, and you can find several women wearing zero number spectacles in attractive frames to spice up their looks. So wearing spectacles does not mean that you have a sight related problem, rather it has become the latest fashion accessory.

Even as opticians can offer you the best advice on what style and what color of frame would go well on you, based on the shape of your face, we also have some guidelines that can help you in deciding which spectacle is the perfect fit for you.

The first point of consideration is how comfortable as the frame, and that can be determined by how nicely the bridge of the frame sits on your nose. If the bridge is too wide your spectacle may keep slipping down every now and then leaving you irritated. On the other hand too tight a bridge will leave depressions on the skin of your nose. If you have a short nose, settle for a bridge with sits high on your nose, and if your nose is long pickup one with a bridge that can be positioned a bit lower.

When confused about what should be the shape of the frame, go by a very basic rule which suggests that the frame should match the shape of your eyebrows. The other thing which is most vital to deciding about the shape of the spectacle frame is the face cut or the shape of the face. If you have a small face a shallow frame will suit you better, and when you have a long face structure settle for deeper frames. Those with square faces look best with frames with have heavy corners and if you’re the lucky one with an oval face you can just about pick up any shape that you like.

The last bit of advice is that whatever frame you choose, be sure that it is not obstructing your sight, especially around the corners.

How To Buy The Right Lingerie?

Picking up the right type of lingerie is important, whether it is to perk up your sex life or simply to wear under your dress. You obviously know if it doesn’t fit you well, it’s never worth it. However, fitting is not the only criteria on which you should judge lingerie, so we have some tips for you here to assist you in picking up the right lingerie for yourself.

As we’ve mentioned, the first thing obviously is the size so when you walk into a lingerie store carry the measurement of your bust line with you. There are two places where you should measure your bust, one is right under your breasts and the other one is where your breasts are the fullest. When you have these two measurements, it will be easier for you and the store assistant to find the right cup size for you. As for the bottom line (I mean panties), you need a measurement of your waist and a measurement of your hips.

While fitting in is the prime most criteria; comfort is the second in line when you’re looking for that perfect piece of lingerie. Every woman has her own scale of judging comfort, like some want a bra to offer maximum support while others may just be looking to enhance the shape of the breasts. The choice of straps is another important point because some women find the elastic ones uncomfortable and thus would prefer lingerie with cotton straps. Even the choice of fabric is a matter of personal choice since quite a few women feel uncomfortable with synthetic yarns.

There was a time when lingerie was available mostly in white and skin shades, but today you have a wide range of colors to choose from. If you’re buying lingerie to be worn under a particular party dress, then get one which matches the color of your dress. However when you’re buying lingerie to get just a little naughty in the bedroom, then you can select based on your partners favorite color or a color that suits your skin and hair color. One set of black and one set of white lingerie must always be found in your wardrobe, as they can be used under most of your dresses.

And lastly, as for the styles you have a complete freedom to enjoy there, since nobody but you and your partner will know what you are wearing inside your clothes.

Hey Sexy Lady

Strangely, most people still have the notion that to look sexy you need to expose more of your skin. However, baring your skin will most likely make you look sleazy or cheap, but definitely not sexy. You can look voluptuous without having to go half nude, by opting for the right make up and the right dress. There is a very fine line that separates sexy from sleazy, and you need to go cautious to avoid overstepping this line.

In terms of makeup, lips and eyes deserve maximum consideration when you wish to create that sexy appeal. Although nude lips maybe the latest rage, I seriously doubt how one can look sexy without putting on some lipstick. A deep red or maroon lipstick topped up with a little lip gloss can spice up your looks if you’re wearing an all black or an all white dress. For your eyes, neatly outline the eye lids and get some eye shadow to match with your dress. And finally don’t forget to apply some mascara to your curled up eyelashes. Defining the outer lines of your lips and eyes is most important thing to look sexy.

Moving to your clothing, it is needless to say that roadside stuff is good for casual dressing, and it’s only quality clothing that can enhance your sensuality quotient. It’s nice to wear coordinated clothes, but with some colors you cannot have them running right from your head to toe, especially colors like a red. So if you are going to wear colors like red or yellow, do remember to coordinate them with either a top or a trouser in a different color.

Quite often women believe that wearing an overly tight dress can make them look slimmer and sexier. However, tight dresses look good only on slim figures, so don’t make yourself look awkward by wearing a tight dress when you’ve got some flab here and there.

If you want to reveal a bit of your body, there’s a certain way to go about it. Like if you are going to bare your legs with a mini been try to keep your cleavage concealed, and vice versa when you want to expose a bit of your cleavage then choose a skirt which is more than knee length. The idea is to expose only a little and leave the rest to the imagination of the looker.

Importance of Foundation in Facial Makeup

Like a strong concrete foundation is needed to raise a stable and strong building, similarly in facial makeup using the right shade of foundation is equally important if you want your overall makeup to look good.

The general rule is to look for a shade of foundation that can blend so well with your natural skin shade that it is difficult to differentiate. Obviously, we’re looking for a perfect match but if you can’t get one which is an absolute match, look for one which is closest to your skin complexion. Using even two shades darker or lighter than your skin shade can completely mar your overall look. The basic idea of using face foundation is to conceal flaws and make the skin tone to appear more even throughout the face.

When you want to test the color of a foundation that you are about to buy, apply a bit of it to somewhere on your jaw line to see whether it blends well with your facial skin. You can even test it on your cheeks; however don’t do the usual mistake of testing it on your wrist, because in most cases there is usually a noticeable difference in the skin shade of the face and the wrist.

I have even seen women trying to test the shade of foundation on the back of their hand, and I can guarantee you that you can never find the right shape that way. That’s because the back of the hand is generally darker than your facial skin. Now, another point that needs emphasis is that the shade should be checked ideally in bright daylight or at least a place in the store which is well lit.

Foundation makeup helps in giving your skin a smoother and more even surface by filling up the pores and absorbing the excess oil from your face skin. At the same time you’re able to achieve a uniform skin texture, skin tone and skin shade throughout your face. You can effectively use foundation to bury blemishes, pigmented skin and dark circles under the eyes, provided your choice of the shade of foundation is right.
