antiagingwrinklecreamYour strategy to fight wrinkles and signs of aging must be planned in accordance with your age. Because when you are in the prime of youth, that’s teenage and early twenties, a sun-block lotion and a regular moisturizer are enough, to keep your skin looking tight and healthy. But, as the number of candles goes on increasing on your birthday cake, you need to take extra care of your skin to help it repair damaged cells and regain its firmness.

Stepping into thirties, you need to get yourself some antiaging products which contain retinoid to strengthen your line of defense. Retinoid has a pumping up effect on your skin, by stimulating the production of collagen. Collagen is what lends structure and strength to your skin.  Retinol-A or retinoid is the most promising collagen stimulant, and its regular application will help avoid the development of fine lines and wrinkles.

Getting help from the dermatologist

If you do not get onto a proper skin care regime, well in time, the wrinkles and fine lines will become stubborn and difficult to be removed with the regular over the counter antiaging products.  In such a situation you need the advice of a dermatologist, who can recommend specific products based on your skin type and the severity of the aging problem.

One of the extensive methods that the dermatologist may use could be chemical peels. These chemical peels are available in different strengths, and your dermatologist will take into consideration several aspects before recommending the most suitable one for you. The milder versions are based on glycolic acid and the treatment would be required to be repeated at least once a month. The procedure may stretch over a few months, but the outcome is fairly pleasing, with reduced aging spots and fine lines.

Apart from chemical peels, you also have the option of laser peel. And since this option is expensive you can use it only for the more severe wrinkles. Of late, this has come up as an alternative to the regular facelift as it requires lesser time and comparatively lesser money. However, the biggest drawback is that it takes a lot of time for your skin to heal and overcome inflammation and redness.
