Arizona Muse: unique detailing

Written by Ren

Arizona Muse has become something of a model du jour, propelled along by a waved bob hairstyle that's currently setting her apart from the pack. Here she is for Vogue Spain's March 2011 issue wearing delicate outfits, the outfit being particularly focused on knits, crochet and macrame, and the odd piece of lingerie.

Arizona: calling the new Bacall

Written by Tania Braukamper

Looking at these covers from Dazed & Confused's March 2011 issue, it's suddenly become apparent to me why the fascination with Arizona Muse has been so meteoric, so fervorous... Those wide-set eyes, that facial structure, they're both captivating and somehow familiar. This Muse can be both ultra-modern and ultra-classic, and when the latter she's something of a modern-day Lauren Bacall.

Bound for Arizona

Written by Tania Braukamper

Thanks to Arizona Muse, I'll be hitting the gym today. Twice. For there's simply no denying it, if you're going to dabble in a little exposed midriff for Spring, a stomach like Arizona's certainly helps. Remember though that the trend doesn't have to be about showing off your entire torso; a peep of upper midriff is the less revealing yet still on-trend option.

Gracing us with her toned torso and lithe limbs in this Dazed and Confused shoot, which was photographed by Kacper Kasprzyk, you can see more of Arizona at the gallery below.

Wedding dresses for Princesses

Written by Tania Braukamper

There's a Royal wedding on the mind of Britain, and it seems to have influenced the theming of Vogue UK's May 2011 wedding supplement:

Acres of tulle, hours of handiwork and countless fantasies - Vogue celebrates summer's breathtaking bridal gowns. And how better to mark a uniquely British wedding than with the pride of the nation?

The above description refers to the shoot Wedding Belles; a Mario Testino-photographed dalliance into only the most romantic and beautifully-crafted gowns. Fit for a Princess, perhaps?

If you want to see more fairytale wedding gowns, it may be worth your while to pick up a copy of the May 2011 issue of Vogue UK. You can also view the rest of the 'Wedding Belles' shoot, which features the likes of Arizona Muse and Karmen Pedaru amoung the nation's uniformed heros, at the gallery below.

Stylespiration: Arizona, a masculine Muse

Written by Tania Braukamper

Androgyny is nothing new (be it girls-as-boys or boys-as-girls) and granted we've been writing about the female dandy as an ongoing trend for some time now; but when there's a new interpretation, a fresh spin, it's bound to catch our eye. This Dazed & Confused shoot featuring Arizona Muse did just that. The masculine looks are varied, from very sharp and traditional men's tailoring through to Teddy Boy styling and rockabilly hair, culminating in elements of boyish punk.

Raoul: beauty in totality

Written by Tania Braukamper

Raoul have become known to me as a label whose collections are effortless yet utterly polished. In sitting here trying to think of a word that encapsulates that quality I've become quite convinced that there isn't such a word; the best I can explain it is as a sort of phenomenon where no piece is in itself outstandingly remarkable, and yet when you look at the collection as a whole you somehow want to own every bit of it. It's like an album by The Strokes, devoid of any fanfare, sweeping strings, or wildly new ideas, and yet completely enjoyable and somehow extraordinary despite being so, well, ordinary. Ok so it's not the best analogy, but you can rest assured I mean that as every compliment (to Raoul and to The Strokes).

The clean lines and perfectly on-trend palette of neutrals, pastels, and earthy colours puts Raoul's spring 2011 collection in the right zeitgeist. Each piece seems to fit with each other piece, each look crosses the day-night / office-social boundaries. Add to that shapes like beautifully minimalistic maxidresses and elegant wide-leg pants, and a look book starring model-of-the-moment Arizona Muse. And - even without the sweeping strings - it's a collection that's somehow extraordinary.

Arizona Muse In Vogue Spain March 2011

Arizona Muse In Vogue Spain March 2011 Arizona Muse In Vogue Spain March 2011Some think it’s a super cool name, others lean towards it being kind of goofy, but however you slice it, Arizona Muse is beautiful. Miss Muse appears in Vogue Spain for the March issue, posing for Lachlan Bailey’s camera in a dark-lit bedroom, wearing and almost-not-wearing comely designs by the likes of Marc Jacobs, Alberta Ferretti and Christian Dior. The Santa Fe, New Mexico born Muse recently hit the couture catwalk in Paris for Valentino, Elie Saab, and Chanel. She also shows up in recent editorials for Chinese Vogue, French Vogue, Vogue, and British Vogue. The Guardian recently had a great article on ‘Why Arizona Muse is poised to take the fashion world by storm.’“The fashion god has spoken: there is a new top model, anointed by the most powerful figure in the industry – American Vogue’s editor, Anna Wintour.”
Describing the 22-year-old from Santa Fe as “a gorgeous, smart grown-up”, Wintour goes as far as comparing Muse to Linda Evangelista and Natalia Vodianova.
British magazine Dazed & Confused is dedicating its March fashion issue to the model. The sensual photo series, titled A Solas con Arizona (‘Alone with Arizona’), is highlighted by Muse in some serious lingerie. Enjoy more intimate photos of the lovely Arizona Muse below.
